This is the iconic Lamborghini Reventon Roadster, and I'm taking it for a drive! I'm reunited with a car I've ridden in nearly a decade ago, but now in Scotland and visiting the owner's collection before he lets me take the keys. This Lambo hypercar set the tone for all the few-offs since!

After driving up to Scotland in my Aston Martin Vantage GT8, you can bet a visit was planned to meet with my friend from the Scotland Lamborghini Collection; having driven together in the stunning red Countach back when we were last here for Gumball 3000. With many of the cars off for various things, including the recently bought Sesto Elemento, there's still plenty of fun to be had with the likes of the Reventon.

Lamborghini introduced the Reventon, based on the Murcielago platform, as their first of the few-off series hypercars, with 20 Coupes and then 15 Roadsters. The Roadster however ups the ante and interestingly features the powertrain of the Murcielago LP670-4 SV, which is double-interesting when you consider that there was never a Murci SV Roadster in production.

Having been lucky to drive the Reventon Coupe a few years ago in California with the Lakehouse Collection, now to experience the Roadster is even more visceral thanks to the open roof. With the weather in Scotland at this time of year being on the sketchy side (to say the least), luckily the sunshine is out albeit very cold and at freezing temps. The owner of these cars is an absolute legend for being happy to get the cars out despite the conditions, I cannot thank him enough for the chance to get back in the Reventon Roadster, and even better when chasing his Singer DLS!
