There's a particular Ferrari that is definitely 'missing' from my collection! I'm pulling out my Aston Martin Vantage GT8 for a run to Scotland, with a stop along the way for a car I've spoken about so much, but never bought one... yet. Let's hit the road, and get the GT8 to Edinburgh!

Back in 2017, when I'd just taken delivery of the Aston Martin GT8, I actually spent a bit of time with it up in Scotland; visiting St Andrews, Edinburgh and Glasgow, including a track outing at Knockhill too. In addition to a road trip to Italy, back in late 2020 I also took it over to Germany to drive the Autobahn and Nurburgring, however that was the last major journey it did and as a permanent Shmeemobile, we need to 'fix' this and get it back on the road!

Before that though, it is in desperate need of a tyre change as it still runs the originals that are dated from 2016 - now almost 8 years old. This is a first time for a Shmeemobile needing a tyre swap due to age rather than lacking tread, albeit not a whole lot left on the originals. As tyres age they lose their original properties and for a high value performance tyre it is therefore important to change them to something newer. In this case we have matched to a brand new set of Pilot Sport Cup 2 Connect tyres with thanks to Michelin to give the car the contact with the road that it deserves.

The checkpoint along the 400 mile drive from London to Edinburgh is visiting Alexander's Prestige, where I stopped by a few months ago to drive the Urus Performante.
