My friend ZenCarDriver has bought a brand new supercar, and we're heading over for collection day! I'm taking my Vantage GT8 to reveal his latest purchase, and find out if it's something I will be massively jealous of and regret not buying myself. A huge congratulations, what a spec!

I've previously joined ZenCarDriver for a number of drives including collecting his CLK 63 AMG Black Series last year, and previously driving the fabulous Vantage V600 Coupe, as well as the 718 Cayman GT4 before I then went and bought one myself. Today however, we're off to pick up a car that I certainly considered ahead of its introduction, and that can only mean today might leave me feeling rather envious!

As a fan of special, limited, rare cars, and particularly of both 12-cylinder engines, and grand touring convertibles, this is certainly something right up my street. We're on the road to HWM Aston Martin in Walton-on-Thames to reveal ZenCarDriver's new Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster! Limited to only 249 units, the Roadster follows the Coupe; with a potent twin-turbo 5.2l V12 and now with a folding roof for all of the experience.

This particular car is in a stunning specification; Zaffre Blue with gloss black and Q silver pinstripes throughout. It wears the chrome accents and details, along with the diamond turned wheels, and an interior to match with silver stitch on the black leather. While you can spec huge amounts of carbon fibre on the V12 Vantage for example for half the bonnet and an optional spoiler, this car wears a more elegant spec instead.

After a convoy featuring the V12VR, the V600, another GT8, a 992 GT3 and a Speciale, it's time for me to have a very quick run at the wheel of the new Roadster and a first impression of what it's like, albeit with baby steps due to only having 21 miles on the odometer!
