For a crazy and extreme spec on a hypercar, look no further than this McLaren Sabre! With a flip paint colour scheme and plenty of unique details, it's a wild thing which ever way you look at it. And then comes the experience getting behind the wheel...

There are only 15 McLaren Sabres in total, all within the USA as the car was built to United States homologation standards as a commission by the customers with MSO. The sales process for customers offered a fixed price regardless of specification leading to some extremely personalised options as a result, with this car probably topping them all.

The body is a split between the Colourstream paintwork and exposed carbon fibre, finished with pinstripes in a slightly different flip shade to give a unique effect. The exposed carbon itself is then furthered by containing inscriptions in opposite directions to the weave as well as the bright green calipers contrasting the paint. On the inside, the main body colour is brought in as a tint to the lacquer on areas such as the steering wheel, along with the seat pinstripes, gas struts and more finished to match.

Mechanically it's powered by an 835hp 4.0l twin turbo V8 with 800Nm torque, and boasts being the fastest 2 seater McLaren ever due to slightly more slipper aerodynamics than the Senna despite a slightly heavier weight. While the US homologation requirement allows design elements like a sharper leading edge to the front splitter, the car is lacking electric mirrors and has an exceptionally awkward key required for opening and closing the trickle charger port.

Starting from the garages that also contain the Koenigsegg Regera, Bugatti Chiron and Ferrari 812 Superfast we're heading on a short drive to the second garage with a Pagani Huayra Roadster BC, Ferrari LaFerrari and Pagani Imola. Being spoiled to now drive my second Sabre of the 15 cars, it confirms my impression that it's very much what the Senna 'should have been' as a slightly more sanitised road car while still very much at the extreme end of the spectrum.
