Let's find the top speed of my new Toyota GR Supra! The new generation Supra is well believed to have more than the claimed 340hp, so where better to put it to the test than a run to the Vmax limiter on the derestricted German Autobahns! With the theoretical limiter set at 250km/h (or 155mph), let's find out where it really sits...

Since picking up my new Supra just a few weeks ago it has already been fully broken in and reached the 2,000km along with visiting the Nurburgring and having some good runs on the Autobahn, but now it's time to see what it can really do. With conditions causing havoc and the absolute necessity to ensure everything is right to drive at these sorts of speeds, it was a patience game for things to fall into place before an open run became possible.

However, when it did, the 3.0l twin-scroll turbo inline-6 punches to the max and the speed quickly rises up to the point at which the limiter kicks in, at precisely 259km/h (or 161mph) while still climbing decently. The potential with the limiter removed would be to continue further still, especially with some modifications made to the car.
