2016 BMW M2: Sometimes the Sequel is Great, Too! - Ignition Ep. 149 > MotorTrend Channel

The BMW 1 Series M Coupe was an instant classic. It was the product of an internal skunkworks project to shoehorn the suspension, wheels, and brakes from the larger M3 Competition Pack into the 1 Series. The fender-flared squat little bulldog was a bit badly behaved, which only made us love it more. These days, BMW’s cars are more capable, but at the expense of the involvement that made the brand what it is today. So we were genuinely concerned that the M2 would be more of a marketing exercise than a real Motorsport-inspired product. Motor Trend Senior Editor Jason Cammisa takes the M2 to the back roads, and brings SCCA Hall of Fame inductee Randy Pobst along to the Streets of Willow to find out if the M2 is a worthy successor to the laugh-a-minute 1M Coupe in this episode of Ignition, presented by Tire Rack (http://www.tirerack.com).
