The exterior of the new BMW 5 Series plug-in hybrid is identical to the combustion engine models; the only distinction is the charging connection on the driver side front fender and the model badge on the trunk lid. The high-voltage battery has been positioned in a space saving way right under the rear seat and can be charged almost everywhere. Even with conventional household socket by using the standard charging cable or through energy recuperation.
