Epic bucket list day! Never did I think that I might drive my own UK AMG GT Black Series at Circuit of The Americas, the home of the United States F1 Grand Prix, but here we are. Join me for an absolute bucket list moment, to stretch the legs of the Shmeemobile in anger on track!

From the early days of planning this trip to the United States with the GT Black Series, I've had firmly in my sights to join a trackday at COTA but these things are often a game of luck with timings and it lining up when the trip would have us in the right area. However, the stars have aligned, and I enrolled in a Chin Track Days weekend and therefore an opportunity to drive the Grand Prix circuit; and a track on a 3rd continent for this car.

After plenty of laps at the Nurburgring Nordschleife in Germany, joining the SCD Secret Meet at Donington Park in the UK, and even driving both the Dubai Autodrome and Yas Marina in the UAE, it could not be better to throw COTA into the mix. I've previously driven here once before, with an AMG GT 4-door 63 S during the media launch, but long enough ago that it feels like a fresh start.

With various groups for the day, I'm in at the deep end with the full race cars including AMG GT3s and 911 Cups, alongside the likes of a McLaren Senna and some other very fast Porsches. However, there are the additional complications of learning the opposite system for indicating and pointing other drivers by, plus the tyres/tires on the very last of their usable tread before being replaced. This doesn't stop it from being the most epic of experiences, and to be able to say it's driven at 3 venues like the Ring, Yas and COTA... wow.
