This is the Mercedes-Benz Vision EQXX! Capable of over 1,200km (750 miles) on a single charge and designed to give a sneak peek into the future of Mercedes, let's explore this new car in detail. Then, it's time for a first drive to understand what the EQXX is all about!

For the EQXX, the team from Mercedes have optimised every single element possible; from the aerodynamics and lowest drag coefficient, to the minimal resistance in the powertrain and creating the most compact and capable battery system they can. With a drag coefficient of 0.17, it is significantly lower than any production car, optimised in every way to help achieve the maximum range. It's fitted with a 100kWh battery pack that's half the size and 30% lighter than that found in the equivalent top-spec EQS, and an electric motor producing 180kW (241hp).

The interior gives a glimpse towards future sustainability, using innovative materials developed from cacti, mushrooms, bamboo and more. There will no doubt be elements of these which find their way into production cars in the future of Mercedes-Benz models.

After a full tour, it's time to join Julian onboard for my efficiency run! The challenge here is to complete a pre-defined loop of the Mercedes development centre proving grounds in Immendingen, Germany, while driving as efficiently as possible; using regeneration in place of braking.

N.B. When talking about the "Cameras" and aerodynamics of the mirrors, I should have said about screens inside that would cause a power draw, as obviously the cameras would be on the outside.
