Some laps of the Nürburgring Nordschleife make for the perfect way to welcome any new car into my garage! The first outing in my SLS AMG Black Series at the earliest possible opportunity, does not disappoint in the slightest. With the V8 thundering away at the famous Green Hell, what an amazing experience to be at the Ring in this car!

The 20.8km circuit is well known for being one of the most challenge tracks in the world, and to date most of my cars have at some point made an appearance and taken on a few laps including the Senna and Ford GT. The latest addition of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series is no different and has been waiting for the occasion to make a visit, and that time has arrived.

Touristenfahrten sessions allow the opportunity to drive the full Nordschleife under toll road conditions; road legal cars only, overtaking on the left and with some select bits of guidance considering the current times too. Having not driven the loop since an outing last October with my Toyota GR Supra, caution is always the name of the game to get a feel for it and not make an over-confident moves.

The SLS Black Series is every bit as epic as hoped, a hugely involving experience with a mega soundtrack taking on some of the famous sections like Flugplatz and the Carousel. For the first session, late in the day during a quieter time, it's the perfect opportunity to go for 3 laps to start getting a feel for driving the car harder and what it's all about.
