My AMG GT R Roadster will arrive later this year, so what's next for the AMG GT R Pro?! The track day plans so far haven't managed to happen, but there are a few other things that hold me back from driving it. Let's have a drive, reveal the full spec of the Roadster, and think about how this is going to work out, plus maybe there's a GT Black Series in the equation too...

Kicking off in the garage, the AMG GT R Pro is with the other Shmeemobiles but really hasn't seen much driving to date. In fact in the first 4-5 months I've only done about 500 miles, 250 of which were the journey to drop off the SLS BS for paintwork. The plans were to take it to track days in April and May at the Nurburgring GP, Nordschleife, Zandvoort, Ascari, Portimao and more but of course with the global circumstances that is not happening - for now at least.

However, there are some other reasons why it hasn't seen much use; most notably because of quite how low the front end is. There's no lift system available but the front is actually the lowest of all the cars I own and it's physically impossible without damaging it to get this car into my garage at home which means it doesn't get driven all that much. It's also incredibly stiff riding, and doesn't carry all the spec that I'd like it to have either as we didn't get the option in the UK to choose.

Having loved my AMG GT R Coupe before, also later this year comes the GT R Roadster! This will pose an interesting question how the two cars will sit in the garage and whether they will be side by side given the slightly different purposes. The Roadster was due in August/September but will now likely have a bit of a delay due to what's going on which will be interesting to see. The spec for the Roadster will be Hyacinth Red, with the RXC wheels to be changed to either black or silver - to be decided. On the interior it will have a host of unique options from the AMG Performance Studio including Dinamica instead of leather, yellow stitching, embroidery and seatbelts to match the yellow brake calipers, and then I will also install the AMG bucket seats as there's nothing like the open air experience in a 'race car'.

Maybe beyond that might come the arrival of a GT Black Series (I don't believe it's going to be called GT R Black Series), and that will pose further questions still! All I know, is when the car does arrive, it would be pretty epic in the collection with the SLS Black Series too. In the meantime, the GT R Pro is undeniably epic, so join me for a quick run to learn more about it.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This video was filmed prior to the outbreak of the crisis in the UK as is evident by the amount of traffic on the roads. The actions and behaviour you see may appear unusual due to new border restrictions, self distancing, and other health and safety measures and recommendations that have since been put in place. It is published to entertain and distract from the gloominess of the current situation. Best wishes go out to everybody who is affected by this global crisis and thoughts are always with you, especially during these trying times. Thank you for your support.

Thanks for watching, Tim
