2014년 10월 2일, 경기도 화성의 자동차안전연구원에서 현대자동차그룹이 주관한
제12회 미래자동차 기술공모전 - 자율주행자동차 경진대회가 실시됐습니다.

1995년부터 국내 대학들의 자동차 기술연구 활성화 및 인재 육성을 위해 시작된 이 대회에
올해는 12개 대학 팀이 참여했습니다.
15개월에 걸쳐 각 대학의 연구성과를 집약한 자율주행차량을 제작한 각 팀.

이날 총 2.5km의 코스에서 교차로, 고속주행, 전/후진 주차 등 실도로 교통 환경이 묘사된
9개의 미션을 수행했습니다.

중간중간 비가 오는 궂은 날씨 속에서도 자율주행관련 정부, 학회 인사 및 대학생들의 열렬한 응원 속에 모두 무사히 주행을 마칠 수 있었는데요.

12th Future Automobile Technology Contest – Autonomous Vehicle Competition was held by Hyundai Motor Group at the Korea Transportation Safety Authority in Hwasung, Korea on October 2nd, 2014.

This competition began in 1995 to vitalize automobile technology development of domestic universities and to foster talented people.
Twelve university teams participated this year.
Each team made its own autonomous vehicle by integrating research result for 15 months.

On the day of competition, teams were given nine missions, such as crossroad driving, high-speed driving, perpendicular/reverse parking and etc. in real traffic environment of 2.5km course.

Even in the rain, every team could finish their driving test without any trouble with enthusiastic support of people of autonomous vehicle related government ministry and academic field, and university students.
