국내 대형차 시장에 새로운 바람을 일으킬 최고급 전륜 구동 대형 세단 ‘아슬란’이
마침내 그 모습을 드러냈습니다.
현대자동차(회장 정몽구)는 30일(목) 동대문 디자인 플라자(DDP, 서울 중구 을지로 소재)에서 김충호 사장 등 회사 관계자와 기자단 3백 여 명이 참석한 가운데 ‘아슬란(ASLAN)’의 공식 출시 행사를 갖고 본격적인 판매에 돌입했습니다. 현대차가 이번에 새롭게 선보인 ‘아슬란’은 지난 5월 부산모터쇼에서 프로젝트명 AG로 최초 공개된 바 있으며, 그 후 터키어로 '사자(獅子)'를 뜻하는 ’아슬란’이라는 차명이 확정됐습니다.
‘아슬란’은 중후한 스타일을 바탕으로 최상의 정숙성과 승차감을 갖춘 전륜 구동 프리미엄 대형 세단을 지향해 개발된 차량으로 기존 현대차의 디자인 철학인 ‘플루이딕 스컬프처(Fluidic Sculpture)’를 한 차원 더 발전시킨 ‘플루이딕 스컬프처 2.0’이 신형 제네시스, 신형 쏘나타에 이어 세 번째로 적용돼 중후하면서도 품격 있는 디자인을 완성했습니다.
현대차의 최첨단 기술력이 집약된 다양하고 새로운 사양이 대거 적용된 ‘아슬란’은 사용자 편의뿐 아니라 감성에서도 만족할 수 있도록 디자인되었으며, 현대차는 출시와 함께 판매에 돌입해 올해는 6천대를, 판매가 본격화되는 내년에는 2만2천대의 ‘아슬란’을 판매한다는 계획입니다.

Hyundai Motor(Chairman Chung Mong-koo) held official launch event of ‘Aslan’ at Dongdaemun Design Plaza(DDP at Eulji-ro, Jung-gu, Seoul) with company officials including president Kim Chung-ho and press corps around 300, starting its sales. New release of Hyundai ‘Aslan’ was shown to public for the first time in Busan International Motor Show last May with the project name of AG, and now ‘Aslan’ which means lion in Turkish is decided as the official name.
‘Aslan’ is developed as front-wheel-drive premium large sedan that provides comfortable driving and the best of class quietness with prestigious exteriors. Hyundai Motor’s design philosophy ‘Fluidic Sculpture’ is developed to ‘Fluidic Sculpture 2.0’ and it was applied to the design of Aslan for the third time after New Genesis and New Sonata, completing refined and luxurious design.
‘Aslan’ of Hyundai Motor’s latest technology and lots of new specifications is designed not only for the convenience of customers but also for emotional satisfaction. Hyundai Motor started its sales along with its release, and aims to sell 6,000 units of Aslan this year and 22,000 next year.
