In selected countries the new optional Personal eSIM in BMWs with Operating System 8 offers you enhanced telephone functionality, a personal Wi-Fi Hotspot and connectivity that easily follows you from BMW to BMW. Get started by setting up your Personal eSIM. Open your My BMW app, go to “Profile” under “3rd Party Services”, select “Personal eSIM” and “Activate eSIM”. Select your mobile provider and enter your number. Click “check with provider” to be led on to your mobile network provider. Follow their instructions to finish the activation. Afterwards you are led back to theMy BMW app where you see your successfully activated Personal eSIM. By the way: You can start this process also on the BMW website or in your car. Under “Mobile Devices” – “Personal eSIM” – “Activate personal eSIM”, a QR code leads you to the web activation. Now you can use your Personal eSIM! In your car log-in with your BMW ID and activate ""synchronize BMW ID"". Your Personal eSIM is now set-up – and the Personal Wi-Fi Hotspot is working. With a synchronized BMW ID, you can even take your Personal eSIM with you from car to car automatically, by logging in with your BMW ID. Connect your phone to the car once to set up the telephone function via Personal eSIM. By doing so, it syncs your contact book to the car. Whenever calling via Personal eSIM, you will use the vehicle’s antennas – ensuring optimum reception. In the My BMW App under “Personal eSIM” you can also choose to deactivate and delete all eSIM data from all connected vehicles. Additionally, you can temporarily block or unblock your Personal eSIM from the app.
