Let's find out if the bonkers Audi RS6 GT is the one to do it all! After I took my Ferrari Purosangue on a road trip to the mountains, many of you told me the RS6 would be better for it, so let's have a go in the utterly crazy last hurrah to this iconic estate and find out what it's really like!

On my recent tour to the French Alps with my Ferrari Purosangue, I posted a picture with the caption "Name a better picture for it, I'll wait", and I couldn't keep up with how many people responded saying Audi RS6. Fast forward a week, and here we are, with the brand new Audi RS6 GT from Audi UK, in fact car number 659 of the 660 cars being made in total.

Over the years of the C8 generation RS6, I have driven countless different variants from the standard car, to the Performance, via multiple different iterations from the likes of Abt, including an extensive run in the 1/12 120 Years edition that we also drove on the Where's Shmee Tour and Gumball 3000 that year. There is absolutely no denying that in recent years, if you wanted a fast wagon with 4WD, reliability, good looks, technology, and usability, the RS6 has been the single stand out go to model.

To wrap up its production run, the limited edition GT has landed, wearing a livery linking back to the 90 Quattro IMSA GTO, a small bump to 630hp / 850Nm from the 4.0l TT V8, some bespoke body elements including front fascia and rear, along with all the trimmings like the carbon RS Bucket Seats, Dinamica interior, large white retro wheels, and so much more. Interestingly, it also has manually adjustable coilovers replacing the adaptive suspension - an unusual call for a family wagon!

Today, is about finding out what the RS6 GT is like and whether Audi have made a suitable last hurrah. Of course we have to throw in the question of where it would sit against the Purosangue for the recent snow trip, but there's no denying it's a cool thing and great that the Audi team made it happen.
