This took some blood, sweat and tears; let's discover the F21 1 Series V8! Starting life as a 116i, @mr.saugmotoren's daily driven project car features the engine of an E92 M3, wears the body of an M2 CS, and features parts of the M2, M3, M4 and even M5. This is totally epic!

Inspired by the previous gen BMW 1M, this project was born from the idea of turning a completely regular 3-door F21 1 Series into something housing the 4.0l NA V8 that you normally find in the E90/E92 generation M3. Going beyond that, the bodywork has been sculpted into that of the M2 Competition and M2 CS, with the M2 CS wheels in a square setup. Behind them sit an M4's axles and even the M4's carbon ceramic brakes, with the paintwork finished in Frozen Deep Green Metallic - from the M5 CS - and also with the cooling system taken from the M5 as well.

I've previously visited Mr Saugmotoren to check out this dream garage in Germany which actually fed me quite a large amount of inspiration behind The Shmuseum. More recently in fact, my SLS Black Series visited for a short period while I flew to the US for other events - and needless to say, it was in some fantastic company.

This car has been grabbing my attention while it's been in the works; the sheer audacity to even attempt it! The project has been in the hands of Speed-TEC, and goodness have they pulled out all of the stops for this even passing the German TuV. Not only that, it's also a daily driver quite literally, despite the extensive modifications.
