Let's take a first look at the new GRMN Yaris from Toyota, and whether I could upgrade to it from my GR Yaris? The immensely popular hot hatch has been dialed up even further by the team at Gazoo Racing, but there's a spanner in the works...

The new GRMN Yaris is limited to just 500 cars, and most critically, this is exclusive to the Japanese market. This means it is not available in Europe or elsewhere, which fairly promptly answers the question about being able to upgrade to one. While it offers the same power output as before, the new model features weight savings with Recaro bucket seats, a rear-seat delete, lighter CFRP bonnet and fixed spoiler, while also stiffening the chassis and shortening the gear ratios and final drive.

After a quick run through and 'first look' at the GRMN Yaris, I need to get my GR Yaris out for a drive as it has sat for the last 2 months and is in need of the legs being stretched. However, it may soon be time for the car to move on from the collection.
