I'm back with my SLS AMG Black Series in its home town of Suttgart, Germany for an experience to drive the first ever car in the world, the 1885 Benz Patent Motorwagen! After staying appropriately at the V8 Hotel, we have some noisy tunnels over to the Mercedes-Benz Museum before a visit to Affalterbach as well where there just so happens to be a new GT Black Series prototype to spot.

The V8 Hotel is located at the Motorworld in Boeblingen, just outside Stuttgart and alongside the assembly plants and customer centre of Mercedes-Benz in Sindelfingen. My last visit was earlier this year, the night before I then drove with the G63 and Tony from Turbo Transport to Schaltkulisse to collect the car before returning back to the UK. As such, it's fun to begin again in exactly the same spot ready for an exploration of the homeland of Mercedes.

The first destination is over to the Mercedes-Benz Museum for an experience with the Benz Patent Motorwagen, the first car ever to exist as long as 135 years ago. With 3 wheels, and powered by a 1 liter 1 cylinder engine, it makes a total of 2/3rds of a horspower! Upon arrival and pulling up the SLS AMG Black Series along side, on the same spot I filmed with the factory car last year, nobody over a century ago could have predicted that the same company might one day make machines like this.

After a short drive to see what it's like, and being kindly given an official driving license for the Patent Motorwagen, it's back into the SLS for a short drive to the home of AMG, and the exact location where the engine inside my own car was assembled. It just so happens also to be an opportunity to again see the AMG GT3 racecar, as well as coincidentally spotting a brand new GT Black Series out for testing but still with some camo on the bodywork.
