It's time to hit the roads in my Ferrari! The first road trip of the year kicks off with a farewell to the BMW M8 1 of 8, collection of Shmarc150's M2 Competition from Topaz and a crossing through Europe towards to open and derestricted sections of the German Autobahns.

In advance of the tour that will also take me to the Geneva Motorshow and a visit to the Alps, I had the Ferrari Lusso fitted with a set of winter tyres on new wheels at Meridien Modena; my Ferrari dealer. They have a package to store the originals until the car returns for a service in April after the winter, but in the mean time is ready and raring to go.

We get started though at Topaz Detailing in the morning where sadly the BMW M8 Competition Gran Coupe First Edition 1 of 8 that I've been driving in recent weeks is now returning back to BMW UK. It's been awesome to use and enjoy the car and you'll have no doubt seen some of the videos with it. Expect to see more of it in future as it will appear at various events and be part of the long term fleet due to how rare and special it is.

Then next up we need to pick up @shmarc150's BMW M2 Competition which has been completely rejuvenated following 32,000 hard kilometres already and as such a level 2 detail and new PPF installed.

But then it's time to hit the road, in the most grimey weather possible and a recipe for filthy cars. First stop is of course the Eurotunnel for the journey under the channel to France before crossing Belgium with the usual rain and traffic jams. However jump ahead and after an obsene mileage run the Autobahns beckon and the V12 can be allowed to scream! With winter tyres fitted, that means a top speed rating of 270km/h maximum, despite the Lusso being more than capable of sailing through 300km/h, however that doesn't stop the run going to its current Vmax.

The journey will continue and the coming week will be filled with awesome things from test drives to collection visits and collaborations; stay tuned!
