I've got some news about my future new BMW M8 Competition! Visiting Portimao circuit in Portugal for my first opportunity to test drive the super-GT, it's an opportunity to experience what it's all about and think more about the future Shmeemobile.

The new BMW M8 launched as both the Coupe and Convertible, and now also the Gran Coupe as we can see for the first time, as both the M8 and M8 Competition in all body styles. The Competition models have 625hp and 750nm from a 4.4l twin turbo V8 as well as the clever M xDrive that offers either 2WD driving, 4WD or the 4WD Sport mode.

First up comes an opportunity to head straight out onto the track with the big Coupe to put it through the paces and see what it's like giving chase to Martin Tomczyk, BMW works driver. From there we can jump onboard an M8 Convertible to enjoy the local roads with the roof down before coming back to see the M8 Gran Coupe and learn a little more of the technical details.

So, what's next for the new Shmeemobile? Specs are currently being chosen with an anticipated arrival in early 2020, so that means deciding most likely for the Coupe and then a case of BMW Individual's vast palette of colours to look into something that works for it best.
