The fastest car of its time, with a top speed of up to 260 km/h, was voted sports car of the century by its fans. In all, 1,400 300 SLs were produced between 1954 and 1957.

Rudolf Uhlenhaut designed the space frame, which was in common use at the time, lending the car a high level of stability combined with low vehicle mass. The two-door car still cuts a fine figure in all colour variations today, on the test track or on a trip around the Swabian mountains. The legend lives on!
